Primary Purpose

The Solution Architect is responsible for translating business requirements into solution architecture deliverables. They collaborate closely with the Architecture Community and Application/Product teams to ensure that business needs are understood, assessed, and translated into feasible, effective technological solutions. The E2E Solution Architect I is focused on the detailed technical aspects and implementation of IT solutions that cut across multiple domains. This role primarily develops technical blueprints of products/applications and ensures alignment with business requirements and engineering teams. They work closely with developers and engineers, providing guidance and oversight to ensure that IT solutions are effectively integrated and deployed in line with organizational standards and strategies.

Solution Architects also play a crucial role in:
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance during the project execution, making sure the proposed architecture is implemented accurately.
  • Provide leadership on EA tools to enrich architecture repository.
  • Evaluate the project's outcome, measuring its results against the expected benefits outlined in the architecture design.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging this knowledge to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Capture all artifacts using EA platform tool in accordance with standard architecture language.

Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC, Chicago, IL, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, Hyattsville, MD.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of software products and services.
  • Develop Enterprise level Application Data Management and Integration Strategies for Analytics and Process Resiliency
  • Identifies potential bottlenecks, risks, or opportunities for optimization across business processes.
  • Identify and Enable EA repository Integration with various tools and data sources across the enterprise and streamline IT operational processes
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to the organization's goals.
  • Ensure Governance of the EA Platform Repository conforming to EA Modeling policies and best practices
  • Ensure all security and compliance aspects are considered in the architecture.
  • Support delivery teams to embed security, privacy, and regulatory needs into the solution.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to development teams during the implementation phase.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Technical field and Masters Degree in Technology and/or Business related field; equivalent trainings/certifications/experience equivalency will be considered
  • 5 or more years of equivalent experience in relevant job or field of technology.
  • 3 or more years of equivalent experience in an advanced role or technical capacity, leading teams directly or indirectly
  • 3+ years or Practical Experience in IT Architecture (i.e., solution architecture) plus various software designs and development languages
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with Big-Data Analytics and Reporting
  • Experience in REST API, Microservices and API Gateways
  • Strong expertise in Java, Python or Scala
  • Experience in Performance Optimization and Scalable Integration Solutions
  • Experience in creating Architecture Artifacts using EA Frameworks like TOGAF, Zachman, UML
  • Domain Architecture Experience in Retail Store Systems, Pharmacy and Store Merchandizing
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization and influence outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Post graduate degree advanced training and or certifications in relevant field/s of study preferred
  • 3 or more years experience in Agile teams and Product/Platform based operating model.
  • 2 or more years experience directly responsible for guiding, training or onboarding team members in relevant technologies, capabilities or skills.
  • Cloud Solution Architect or equivalent certification
  • Experience with multi-cloud platform solutions
  • Experience with Data Integration using Mulesoft/Active MQ and Streaming technologies like Kafka
  • Knowledge of DevOps processes (including CI/CD) and Infrastructure as code fundamentals.


ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $105,200 - $163,320

IL/MA/MD Salary Range: $120,960 - $187,800
