The 'Director of Commercial Systems & Tools' is responsible for partnering with leaders across Ahold Delhaize USA (ADUSA) to be a thought partner that provides well-informed, forward-thinking insights to shape the strategic direction of a company's portfolio of merchandising tools. This leader is responsible for understanding the complex merchandising tools environment and putting forward a recommendation/implementation roadmap to achieve new commercial system capabilities. This role is responsible for leading a team that has deep business and technical expertise that drives system implementations through the full project management cycle (e.g. the build of business requirements all the way through to change management activities) to ensure user users are well-prepared for systematic changes and new ways of working.

***Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, Hyattsville, MD

Essential job functions:
  • Oversees a team that supports business leaders across ADUSA to effectively optimize and enhance the existing portfolio of commercial systems and tools. Responsible for partnering with Commercial Strategy to drive alignment across the enterprise on new potential tools and capabilities; provides deep insights on how to sequence/optimize the existing portfolio of commercial systems and tools
  • Leads team that provides deep business and technical expertise to partner with Product/IT to effectively prioritize, support and deliver a best-in-class suite of merchandising tools
  • Drives for clarity in the emerging pipeline of new system requests/enhancements to determine initial prioritization and how to optimize sequencing to maximize delivery and minimize risk and business disruption. Active voice to inform portfolio prioritization and sequencing activities
  • Responsible for establishing the correct forum(s) to collaborate on key updates on programs/projects, as well as share sufficient details on how the work is progressing against the plan. Utilizes commercial business leaders to bring awareness and help 'solve' large roadblocks
  • Leads team that is responsible for the documentation of the product/project roadmap across all merchandising projects. Has visibility to all work underway with the 100+ merchandising systems. Drives for a streamline, highly integrated suite of merchandising systems and tools
  • Oversees team responsible for partnering with Business leads to clearly define and document business requirements and end-to end-testing across impacted cross-functional teams. Leads team that manages and writes strong, compelling UAT test scripts (end to end) while clearly defining business owners to conduct testing
  • Engages with system/tool providers, alongside Business Owners, to understand key challenges with current platform(s) and to understand vendors roadmap/service strategy with an eye towards driving ADUSA's strategic commercial system needs
  • Responsible for leading team that successfully delivers the commercial system and tools transformational roadmap ensuring business goals are achieved
  • Leads team to partner with PMO and Change Management to build and pressure-test implementation and change plans to ensure business activities are understood and that users are well positioned throughout the change journey
  • Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our values

Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis until the end of their appointment
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field
  • 8+ years' experience in technology leadership roles, with a focus on commercial systems, and business tools
  • Possesses a deep understanding of technology, business operations, and strategic planning to drive efficiency, growth, and successful execution of commercial systems and tools
  • Technical acumen to drive clear business requirements
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing technology solutions that drive business value
  • 4+ years' experience leading teams with the ability to inspire and mentor team members
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Project management expertise, including the ability to manage complex projects and deliver results on time and within budget
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs and technological advancements
